Trouble Front

Zk Av Club is not a production company.

We are a network of freelancers, students and curious individuals who teach and learn while sometimes creating audiovisual content in support of our local and global communities.

Although individuals who meet through Zero-knowledge Audiovisual Club may collaborate in teams to produce original content or art, the club's main function is to coordinate within and between communities, empowering them with experience, knowledge and skills to amplify their voices and share their stories.

Zk Av Club is a grassroots approach to community audiovisual documentation and publicity.

Many assume that community event audiovisual production is just about recording or livestreaming stages at events. While traditional media focuses on staged presentations and polished productions, our approach goes much deeper. Recording/livestreaming presentations, panels, and so on, is within the capabilities of Zk Av Club participants, but this is only the most basic piece of community events. This content is what our remote audiences have come to expect but we can do a lot better.

Production companies can't document a community. Not really.

Traditional media captures events, but the spirit cannot be captured. Communities—not just speakers on stage—are the true measure of an event’s success. The goal of productions like these is to capture moments and extract value from community events while sharing and preserving only the voices of the individuals who were selected to speak on stage. We owe it to our communities to do better.

Only communities can document themselves. Moreover, only a community can truly represent itself with regard to archives and publicity.

Zk Av Club exists to bridge this gap—not by acting as an external media entity, but by equipping communities with the tools, skills, and confidence to tell their own stories. Rather than merely recording events from a distance, we are embedded within the fabric of these community gatherings, engaging with participants, organizers, and audiences alike.

Our role is to facilitate storytelling that is authentic, inclusive, and reflective of the collective experience, ensuring that the voices that often go unheard are given space to contribute to the narrative. Instead of a polished but detached media product, we help communities to cultivate, create, and curate content archives that are truly valuable to them.

Zk Av Club is more than a media group; it is a movement for community self-representation. By empowering communities with the means to document their own experiences, we ensure that their voices, perspectives, and collective memories are preserved in a way that is true to their reality.

The future of storytelling belongs to those who live it. Join us in ensuring every community has the tools to share its voice.
